SUMMARY:Simon Hope Demonstration - Beaded Box with Pewter insert and finial
DESCRIPTION:We were looking forward to Mick Hanbury being our guest demonstrator. Sadly\, Mick has had to pull out of the evening as his wife is due to have an operation and understandably he needs to be with her. Not to leave us without a demonstrator for the night\, Mick\, along with Tony Jones\, have arrange for Simon Hope to come along. \n\n\n\nSimon has been turning since he was 11\, and at the age of 26 he was the youngest to be on the register of turners. Simon has a vast experience in demonstrating to woodturning clubs across the UK and Europe. He has presented at seminars in the UK\, Ireland\, France\,  Germany and Austria. He has also been a judge for the worshipful company of turners. \n\n\n\nThis will be Simon first ever visit to Burcot and he will be showing how to turn a beaded box with pewter inlay and a finial  \n\n\n\nNot a demonstration that you should miss!

SUMMARY:Coombeswood Canal Trust Open Weekend
DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to be invited back to the Coombeswood Canal Trust’s Open Weekend for a couple of days turning down by the ‘cut’.  \n\n\n\nWe will have the gazebo set up with one lathe\, and be demonstrating our craft throughout the weekend. Hopefully we will be luck with the weather as the event always draws a decent crowd. \n\n\n\nIt’s free entry so why not pop along\, say hello\, and have a look at the various stalls.

Ian was last with us back in March 2024 when he showed us how to turn a multi-axis honey dipper (you can find his guide in the How To’s section of the members area). This time Ian will share how to turn a multi-axis box\, and it promises to be as interesting and educating as the honey dipper. A great demonstration to attend if you are looking for a new skill to add to your repertoire.

DESCRIPTION:We are pleased to be once again invited back to the Bonded Warehouse Open Weekend. This event has been a fixture in our calendar for many years\, and it is great to take our full show stand and turn by the cut for the weekend.  \n\n\n\nHistorically\, this has been a great event for the club as we reach out to so many people to promote the craft of woodturning.  \n\n\n\nAs it will be our last outdoor event of the year where we have out own gazebo’s set up it would be wonderful to see as many members as possible come along and support the stand. There is plenty going on over the weekend including stalls\, crafts\, food and refreshments\, so why not come down and enjoy the event.
