Chairmans Challenge - Burcot Woodturners

The Chairman’s challenge is set by our Chairman Richard every 2 months and judged at our Hands On events.

Richard’s challenges are designed to push you all a little bit further to develop; new skills, techniques and to get more out of your turning.

As always the entries will be judged on their ability to meet the criteria, and above all else “Form and Finish”

A selection of top pieces from each challenge will be taken to Woodworks at Daventry 2027 to form part of the club stand.

THE CHALLENGE FOR MAY & JUNE 2026

Richard would like members to

TURN A BOWL

Your bowl can be any size, turned out any wood you choose, be decorated or un-decorated, and you decide the finish. What the judges will be looking for is the form of your bowl and the finish that you have achieved.

You will need to bring you bowl (or bowls) to the July meeting to be included in the competition.
