Chairmans Challenge - Burcot Woodturners

The Chairman’s challenge is set by our Chairman Richard every 2 months and judged at our Hands On events.

Richard’s challenges are designed to push you all a little bit further to develop; new skills, techniques and to get more out of your turning.

As always the entries will be judged on their ability to meet the criteria, and above all else “Form and Finish”

A selection of top pieces from each challenge will be taken to Woodworks at Daventry 2027 to form part of the club stand.

THE CHALLENGE FOR JULY & AUGUST 2026

Richard would like members to

SPINDLE TURN AN ITEM

You can choose what you want to turn for example a candle stick, salt and pepper mill, bud vase, wand, Christmas Tree, honey dipper etc but remember we are looking for excellent form and a fantastic finish.

You will need to bring you item or items to our September meeting to be included in the competition.
