It was yet another busy Thursday evening with plenty of things going on in the village hall.
As usual we had the three club lathes in operation with plenty of members having a go at learning a new technique, or improving their own skills. Our experienced club members, along with our AWGB Approved Tutor, Tony Jones, were on hand to guide and share their expertise, so I hope that everyone took something away from the night.

We were also grateful to have club member, Tom Phoenix on hand to demonstrate to people methods for sharpening their tools. As we have learnt from many demonstrations in the past, having sharp tools is the key to successful turning, and Tom gave members tips for getting the best results.
We held a Bring and Buy sale for the first time which gave members the opportunity to sell equipment and tools that they no longer needed. There were plenty of items on the tables and a fair few members left the hall with a bargain or two. We also had a sale of timber and turning blanks for members to replenish their stock with.

Our members work table was also a popular area on the night. Thank you to everyone who brought something along to share with the other members. There were some beautiful pieces on show, and they provoked plenty of discussion during the evening about how they were turned and the finishes that were used. Here are a few photo’s of the items that were brought in for the evening.

Apologies if I have not included your piece above, there were so many great items it was hard to choose.
Of course the one thing that makes our club so great is our members, and we must thank you all. There are many friendships that have been made over a cuppa, a biscuit and a chat about woodturning.
