Last weekend the club were once again out and about demonstrating the heritage craft of woodturning. This time our outdoor stand was at the Belbroughton Scarecrow Festival, and it gave members of the public the chance to see woodturning up close and ask members questions.
Despite a weekend of mixed weather, there was plenty of interest in woodturning and our club. The craft shop was well stocked with various items which the team had brought along, and gave the public a chance to buy a few early Christmas presents.
Of course we must thank everyone who came along to help: Mike C, Roger, Bruce, Trevor C, Matt, Craig, Trevor D, Mike D, Tom and of course Jake. Without you all giving up your time to come along and support the club we would not be able to do the things we do.
Our last outdoor event of 2024 is the Bonded Warehouse Open Weekend in Stourbridge on the 19th and 20th of October. Traditionally, this has always been a well attended event, both by the public and club members, and is a fitting end to the show season. We would love it if we could have as many members come along to the event to support the club, and even have a go on the stand. Keep your eyes peeled for details.
In the meantime, here are a few photographs from the Scarecrow Festival:
