We would like to express our congratulations to Steven Gordon who has just been elected to the role of Vice Chairman of the AWGB.
Steven is a good friend of Burcot Woodturners and has been an advocate for how our club runs and how friendly and welcoming we are.
Steven was our guest demonstrator in November 2024, and regularly attends club meetings offering his help and advice.
I am sure that you will all join us to wish Steven good luck in his new role.
In addition to Steven becoming Vice Chairman, we are also pleased to learn that Barrie Fisher has returned to the role of Midlands Rep for the AWGB
Like Steven, Barrie is a regular visitor to our club and is always on hand to provide help and support.
We would also like to wish Barrie all the best in the role for the future.
After many years where Burcot Woodturners has not had so much as a visit from an AWGB Committee Member, it is fantastic that we see both Steven and Barrie on a regular basis. They’ve come along to our meetings as fellow woodturners, and friends, and it is great that they have now taken up prominent positions with the AWGB.
We also look forward to welcoming both Barrie and Steven as our guest demonstrators in 2025 & 2026. Barrie will be demonstrating at the club on the 4th of September, and Steven will be back on the stage for our February 2026 meeting.
