At our September meeting we welcomed Mike Luck to the club to give a demonstration on applied copper decoration. The evening was yet again well attended, with over 50 members and visitors coming along to see Mike’s demonstration.
Mike gave a very interesting demonstration which combined the use of Milliput putty around the copper to enhance the decoration and add colour to the pieces. He certainly gave members some ideas of what can be achieved with some simple materials, and how to achieve excellent results.
Here are just a few photographs from the evening:
After Mike’s demonstration it will be interesting to see how many members incorporate his ideas in their pieces in the future. If you do have a go at the techniques Mike showed us, please bring your work along to share on the members table at our future meetings.
And finally……………………………
DON’T FORGET OUR CHAIRMANS CHALLENGE FOR THE OCTOBER MEETING
At our August meeting, Mike Delves set two challenges for members to have a go at for the October meeting. There is still plenty of time to get your pieces ready, but just remember Mike’s famous words – “it is all about form and finish”
