What better way to conclude our 2024 demonstrations, and premier our new demonstration equipment, than to have Steve Gordon demonstrate how he creates his thin stemmed laburnum flowers.
Steve has recently displayed his flowers at the AWGB Seminar, and had a set purchased by the Daniels Collection, so we were privileged to have him show us exactly how he made them.
Yet again there was an excellent turnout for what was a superb demonstration of precision turning. Steve shared his knowledge and techniques, which members could apply to any project they work on. He also showed the benefit of having sharp tools when turning.
The final result was a very delicate flower and a stem which measured just 2mm in diameter!
It was also a great way to test for the club’s new equipment, and members appreciated the improved experience thanks to the new kit. All in all it was another successful night at the club.
